Mission
The Association for Human Rights (VMR) stands up for people in Liechtenstein whose human rights are threatened or violated. As an independent human rights institution, a monitoring body for people with disabilities and an ombudsman's office for children and young people, we are there for particularly vulnerable people.
We provide information and legal support for those affected. But we don't just deal with personal rights violations. Above all, we focus on long-term improvements in the legal and structural framework conditions. In doing so, we work closely with state and civil society actors, as well as with international bodies.
Every year, we document shortcomings and recommend specific measures to close the gaps in the existing system.
In workshops at schools, public lectures and campaigns, we provide information about the importance of human rights. We raise awareness, educate and thus initiate the social discourse that leads to change.
Our vision
We want a Liechtenstein in which human dignity is paramount and the rights of all people are protected without distinction. A Liechtenstein in which justice, inclusion and equal opportunities for all are firmly anchored in the law and in social life.
Our mission
We are passionately committed to protecting and promoting the human rights of all people in Liechtenstein. No one should be discriminated against on the basis of origin, gender, sexual orientation or gender identity, disability, age, religion or belief, social status or any other personal characteristic. By providing advice, legal support, awareness-raising and documentation, we support all individuals in living with dignity and developing their full potential. We contribute our expertise to authorities and politicians in order to make laws and framework conditions fairer, more inclusive and more respectful of human rights.
