In the latest episode, “On the Far Right—A Postwar History of Switzerland,” Laura Hilti speaks with historian Damir Skenderovic about xenophobia.

Damir Skenderovic is one of the pioneers of research on right-wing extremism and right-wing populism in postwar Switzerland. While the topic received only limited attention for a long time, he was an early analyst of the origins, ideology, and political significance of right-wing populist actors, as well as their influence on Swiss migration and integration policy. He also authored the first comprehensive historical studies on the subject. Now 61 years old, he is a professor of contemporary history at the University of Fribourg.
