Manosphere: In the Wake of Toxic Seducers

The “manosphere” has long since ceased to be a fringe phenomenon, at least since the release of the Netflix series *Adolescence*. Online communities, influencers, and platforms are increasingly spreading anti-feminist and, in some cases, openly misogynistic content.

Often marketed as “self-improvement” or “men’s coaching.” The issue is addressed, for example, in Switzerland’s National Action Plan against Radicalization and Violent Extremism.

www.manosphere.ch is a new resource available in German-speaking countries. This is exactly where manosphere.ch comes in:

• Clear explanations of terms, narratives, and dynamics

• Analysis of trends and influencers

• Support for professionals, parents, and interested individuals

This is because the Manosphere often operates by offering simple answers to complex life questions, particularly for young men seeking guidance. However, this frequently conveys problematic worldviews in which equality is portrayed as a threat and women are broadly devalued.

From a human rights perspective, this is crucial. The spread of such ideologies can undermine equality and contribute to the normalization of discrimination—both online and offline.

At the same time, it is clear that many young men do not end up in these spaces by chance. A lack of positive role models, social insecurities, and digital dynamics play a decisive role. Therefore, there is a need here for extensive prevention efforts, awareness-raising work, and diverse male role models.
