State parliament representatives Carmen Heeb-Kindle, Lion Nägele, and Daniel Salzgeber from landtalk.li invited Lisa Hermann from VMR to discuss the topic of parental leave.

Parental leave is a term that is currently on everyone's lips.

So it's perfect that Carmen Heeb-Kindle, Lino Nägele, and Daniel Salzgeber from Landtalk invited our expert Lisa von Reden to discuss the topic. The four of them talk about the new regulations for families after the birth of a child, which have been in effect since January 1, 2026.

Parental leave is:

- the opportunity for parents (including foster parents) to take a maximum of 4 months of childcare leave per parent

- partially remunerated. Two months of this are paid with a maximum of CHF 4,900, and two months can be taken additionally without pay

- an opportunity for parents to take on childcare independently during the first year of their child's life

You can find the brand-new episode on Spotify at: It's time – Parental leave – Landtalk | Podcast on Spotify
